What You Actually Get When We Build Your Website

The starter package — £250 one-off

A starter site for a small business in Newton Abbot, Torquay, Exeter or anywhere across South Devon includes:

• Domain registration — typically £15/year, billed separately to keep the ownership cleanly in your name
• Hosting setup — your site goes onto our scalable UK server, with London or US server location available depending on where your audience is
• WordPress and Divi 5 — the most widely used CMS in the world, paired with the Divi 5 theme builder, both fully licensed under our agency licence
• Up to five core pages — typically homepage, about, services, contact, plus one of either a portfolio, blog landing or location page
• Plugins included — Gravity Forms, Gravity View, Restrict Content Pro for membership functionality, SEOPress for SEO, UpdraftPlus for backups, plus the Divi Pixel, Divi Life and Divi Next plugin libraries
• SSL certificate — encryption included from day one, no extra charge
• Mobile-responsive design — the site looks and works properly on phones, tablets and desktops as a starting requirement, not an upsell
• Imagery from Envato Elements — we have an annual membership, so you have access to the full library for stock photography where you don't have your own
• Hand-over training — we walk you through the WordPress and Divi back-end so you can update text and add blog posts yourself

The plugin licences alone — Gravity Forms, the Divi extensions, SEOPress Pro — would cost you several hundred pounds a year if bought individually. They are bundled into our build because we hold agency licences for our clients.

What the £300/month retainer covers

The retainer is not an extra you have to take — but most of our clients do, because the site needs ongoing care it would not get otherwise. The retainer covers:

• Hosting and SSL renewal — fast UK servers, daily backups, malware scans
• WordPress core, theme and plugin updates — handled monthly, tested before going live
• Content updates — typically up to a couple of hours of small changes per month, things like new opening hours, a price change, a new team member
• Local SEO — ongoing Google Business Profile work, local citation building, monthly performance reporting
• Support — direct line to Newton Abbot, same-day response for anything urgent

For Devon businesses that just want their website to keep running properly without thinking about it, the retainer is the bit that makes the £250 build work for years rather than months.

What is NOT included

Worth being clear about:

• Copywriting — we have access to copywriters who will write content for you at additional cost, but it is not included in the starter price. Many clients write their own and we polish it
• Custom photography — we use stock or your own photos. If you need professional shots taken, we can recommend a Devon-based photographer
• Custom development — anything beyond the standard Divi/WordPress/Gravity Forms toolkit (custom-coded plugins, bespoke API integrations, complex multi-language sites) is quoted separately
• Paid advertising spend — Google Ads, Facebook Ads etc. The setup and management can be part of the retainer, but the ad spend itself is your direct cost

Larger projects

For e-commerce shops with hundreds of products, membership sites with multiple tiers, or multi-brand projects, we quote per project. There is no fixed price tier above the starter — every larger project gets a proper scoping call and a written quote.
