Mal Peet at malpeet.com is the official site for the late, award-winning Devon-based author Mal Peet, whose young-adult novels (including the Carnegie-shortlisted Tamar and the Branford Boase-winning Keeper) earned him a serious international readership. Building a site for an author is a different kind of brief: there is no shop to convert through, no booking flow to design — the site exists to be a stable, accurate home for the work, the bibliography and the press. We are pleased to have built and supported it.

Taji Barbers — Turkish barbers with shops in Newton Abbot and Dawlish — at turkishbarberdevon.com. Belmont House at belmonthousebedandbreakfast.com is a holiday rental in Beer, East Devon. Devon Sand Box Jewellery at devonsandbox.co.uk is a Teignmouth-based jewellery business whose site shows the work and runs the enquiry flow. AB Pest Solutions at abpestsolutions.co.uk is the local pest-control firm we built a site for in 2024 — pest control is a category where the visitor wants reassurance and a quick callback rather than a long brand story, and the site is built around that. Pre-school sites have to do a particular kind of work: reassure parents, list term dates and fees clearly, demonstrate Ofsted compliance, and keep the day-to-day running visible enough that families know what their child is up to. Caravan, van and car hire
A small cluster of vehicle-hire and storage projects. Stow Away UK at stowawayuk.co.uk is a Cornwall-based caravan storage and management firm — they store the caravan, service it and deliver it to you wherever your next holiday is. Devon Van Hire at devonvanhire.co.uk is a local van, car and truck rental site we have rebuilt in Divi over the years — a clean example of how an old static site refreshes well into a modern WordPress build. Car Hire Van Hire UK at carhirevanhire.com is a more recent build — a directory site we built using data to assemble a UK-wide car and van hire listing, our first in a series of directory-style projects.
Active Financial Advisors, Abbotskerswell
Active FA at activefa.co.uk is the Abbotskerswell-based financial adviser whose site we built. Abbotskerswell is the kind of small Devon village where a regulated financial business benefits enormously from naming its location: clients searching "financial adviser near me" from the surrounding parishes find a local result rather than a generic Exeter or Newton Abbot listing. Local SEO is most of the work for these sites.
Find New Staff — virtual assistants
Find New Staff at findnewstaff.com is the more unusual project on this list — a website built to attract UK-based businesses to virtual assistants in the Philippines. The site is in English, the audience is UK, and the workforce is overseas. The site has to address the trust questions head-on: how vetting works, how communication runs across time zones, what happens when something goes wrong. UK clients hiring international staff need clear answers before they enquire.
Our own brand and Google Business advice
Two of the source posts on this page are about our own work rather than a client. The "How do you like the new Shoutdesign" post marks an early visual refresh of our own brand site as we rolled the Shoutdesign identity into the wider business. The "Google Business Listings Free" post was an early reminder for Devon businesses to claim their free Google Business profile — still some of the highest-leverage marketing work a small business can do, and still free.
