Why we picked WordPress and Divi 5
WordPress runs around 40% of the public web, so the talent pool, the plugin library and the security track record are deeper than anything else. Divi 5 is a visual builder that sits on top of WordPress, made by Elegant Themes. It replaced their older Divi 4 in 2025 and is genuinely faster and cleaner under the hood.
What this combination gives you is a site that we can design pixel by pixel for your business — not a template — and that you can still edit yourself without writing code. You hover, you click, you change the words, you save. That is it.
What it actually feels like to edit your site
The most common worry from a Devon small business owner is "I won't be able to update it after you've gone". With Divi 5 the editor looks like the live page. If you want to change a phone number in the header, you click the phone number and type. If you want to add a new opening-hours line for the school holidays, you click into the text block and type a new line. If you want to swap out the photo on your homepage hero, you click the photo and upload a new one from your phone.
The bits that genuinely require a developer — speed-tuning, schema markup, payment-gateway plumbing, SEO-Press configuration, building a new product type — we still handle on the £300 monthly retainer. The day-to-day "I just need to change a sentence" work is yours.
Our build process
- Brief and strategy. Either at our Newton Abbot office or over a call. We work out what the site has to do — book a table, take a deposit, capture an enquiry, sell stock — and what success looks like in twelve months.
- Design. We build a homepage and one inner page in Divi 5 on a staging URL. You see real working pages, not flat mockups. Two rounds of revisions are included.
- Build. We extend the design across the full sitemap, wire up forms (Gravity Forms by default), set up Google Analytics 4, configure SEO-Press, and load real content.
- Training. A live screen-share session — usually an hour — where we show you exactly how to do the things you'll need to do. We record it so you can rewatch it.
- Launch. We point the domain at our hosting (London or Dallas data centres, your choice) and run final tests on mobile networks.
- Aftercare. Either pay-as-you-go support or the £300/month retainer that covers hosting, plugin updates, security, content tweaks and local SEO.

Do I have to use Divi 5 forever? No. Divi 5 is built on top of WordPress, and the content lives in the WordPress database. If you ever wanted to migrate to a different theme or builder, the underlying pages and posts come with you.
Can I update the site from my phone? Yes. Divi 5's editor works on tablets, and the standard WordPress mobile app handles posts, pages and images well.
How much will my site cost? Starter sites begin at £250. Larger projects with shop, booking or membership features are quote-only. Ongoing support is £300/month and includes hosting, updates and content changes.
