The things everybody asks
Will I lose my Google rankings?
That is the first thing we protect. Your URLs, page titles, meta descriptions and structured data come across as they are, and anything that has to move gets a permanent redirect. In practice sites usually improve, because speed is a ranking factor and the new site is far quicker.
Can I still edit my own website?
Yes, and most people find it easier than WordPress. One login, a list of your pages, a visual editor, and a save button that publishes immediately. We record a walkthrough on your own site so you have something to refer back to.
What about my blog?
It comes across in full, with categories, dates and pagination. We have migrated sites with over 600 posts. You write new ones in the same admin as your pages.
I have an online shop. Can you do that?
A shop needs a checkout, so it is a different conversation. We either keep the shop on WordPress and rebuild the rest, or look at our ShoutStores platform. We will be straight with you about which fits.
What if something goes wrong later?
There is no database to corrupt and no plugin to break. Recovery is copying files back. We keep backups and we look after the site as part of the monthly fee.
Am I locked in?
No. The site is standard HTML, CSS and images. If you ever leave, you take the files with you and any host on earth can serve them.
