Where your site lives

For UK clients, our default is a London data centre. Speed of light matters: a request from Newton Abbot to a London server completes faster than the same request to a US server, and Google's PageSpeed test reflects this. UK hosting also keeps your data within UK jurisdiction, which simplifies GDPR.

We also host in Dallas for clients with a US-heavy audience, and we have access to data-centre capacity in Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Reading, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sāo Paulo when there is a real reason — usually a client whose primary market is in that region. For 95% of Devon small businesses, London is the right answer.

What "managed hosting" actually means in practice

• Email forwarding or proper IMAP email depending on your needs
• Monitoring — uptime checks every five minutes, with alerts to us (not you) when something is wrong

What it does not include

We are honest about this:

• We do not host email-only accounts (use Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace for proper business email)
• We do not host gambling, adult, or content that would breach our acceptable-use policy
• We do not run a control panel for you to install whatever you like on the server — managed hosting trades that flexibility for stability
• We do not promise 100% uptime. Nobody honestly can. We aim for 99.9% and historically meet it

When to use standalone hosting from us vs the retainer

Standalone hosting (one-off annual fee) suits sites that are stable, that we built, and that you genuinely will not need to update or grow. The retainer suits sites that are still being added to, that need ongoing local SEO, and where you want a phone number to ring when something breaks.

FAQ

Can I host my site with you if you didn't build it? Sometimes. We will look at the site first — if it is a maintainable WordPress build, yes. If it is a hand-coded site from 2008 or a fragile WooCommerce stack, we will tell you straight.

What happens if I want to leave? You own your domain, your content, and your database. We will package up a full export and assist with migration to wherever you are going. No hostage routine.
